Treatment Approach

Gabriel’s Acupuncture treatment approach may include the use of other Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities, for example, the condition you present with may respond more favourably to a combination of acupuncture, cupping and moxa than by acupuncture alone. Additionally, Chinese Herbal formulas may be recommended in some chronic cases. Liniments may be recommended for sports injuries associated with trauma, sprains, strains and bruising, in an effort to stimulate local circulation and accelerate recovery time.

Gabriel has a special interest in the field of Musculo-Skeletal disorders and sports injuries and believes that Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine has a great deal to contribute toward this specialised field of healthcare.

Gabriel believes that Western and Chinese medicine each have their strengths and by working together can provide a multidiscipline but integrated treatment approach, supporting the best possible outcome in patient care.

Professional History

Gabriel is a qualified acupuncturist, holding a four year Bachelor of Health Science degree from the Australian College of Natural Medicine (ACNM) since 2004.  He is a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA), the peak professional association for Chinese medicine practitioners in Australia.

Gabriel has had the privilege of working with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Community Health centres in Ipswich, Roma and Charleville since 2007 where he performed a variety of modalities including acupuncture, electric stimulation, cupping, moxibustion, Tui Na (massage) and the prescription of Chinese formulated herbal medicine.

He has been successful in the treatment of orthopaedic problems (back, neck and muscular injuries), fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel syndrome, menopause, hypertension and sleep disorders and many others.

Gabriel’s passion for martial arts led him to study the art of Chinese medicine and he still gets inspiration from the old stories from ancient masters who had twin disciplines of fighting and healing arts.  He has also been training and teaching the Korean martial arts of Taekwondo and Hapkido for over 20 years, he currently holds a 5th Dan in both Martial arts and he has conducted many seminars in this field nationally and internationally.

Some of Gabriel’s Taekwondo students have competed nationally and internationally at Commonwealth Championships.  One of his Taekwondo Poomsae (Technical Patterns) students scored bronze at the World Championship in Korea not long ago and a number have medalled at National Championship Technical and sparring competition levels.
